Last Technology Lesson

Today is our last technology lesson in hard materials, I finished sanding my peice of metal so all I needed to do is show Mr grundy and wait until I can polish it.  I showed him and He used the machine to smoothen it and make it shiny then instructed me to get a long paper towel so I can start polishing my piece of metal. I polished it and it was nice and shiny I rubbed the metal against a paper towel to clean it and then showed Mr Grundy. He took some photos of my pendant and said I was finished. All I needed to do was work on my pewterbook so I can get a higher grade. I worked on my pewterbook and onced I was done I got to relax and help some of my friends !

Technology

We hopped onto the bus and we made our way to Tamaki College for Technology.

As usual we walked to our classes wih our group and our class was at the far corner of the school. Mr Grundy was waiting inside the class so we quietly got our container on the table and found our seats. I was on the 1/5 stage of the sand paper level. I had 4 more others to get through. I scrubbed my pendant on the sand paper so it was smooth and wrote my name on the board. I carried on until I got onto the last stage which was water sanding. Hanady who is from my group helped me and showed me how to do it. She gave me instructions and I carefully did them. I was about to show Mr Grundy but he was busy. It was time to go so we all packed our work into our containers, put our chairs away and get ready to play the match game with Mr Grundy. The point of the game is to try and not pick up the last match. If we win we get a handfull of M&Ms. I feel so proud of myself for finishing all the stages of sanding my pendant withour scraping my fingers.

Technology at Tamaki College

Today around 8:50 AM Glen Innes seniors took a bus to Tamaki College for technology.

When we reached Tamaki College we walked to our class. As usual my class was on the far corner so I walked there with my group. When we reached there we greeted Mr Grundy and we took our small container which has our work in it. I was filing my shape for about 20 minutes and showed Mr Grundy. After doing that Mr Grundy gave me sand paper and told me what to do with it. It was hard trying not to scrap your fingers on the sand paper while doing it. I tried finding a better position to do it because it was really uncomfortable. Mr Grundy then started talking to us about our grades and how we can get better grades. He told us that to get our grades up we should work or our pewter book and be specific on what your writing in it.

Technology/Hard Materials

Today Year 7/8 from Glen Innes went on bus to Tamaki College for technology. We started off by finding our class. I was in Mr Grundy’s class so my class was right around the corner. We went inside and sat down on any seat that was available. I sat next to my friends. Mr Grundy did the roll and we did our work. He instructed us to go on the pewter workbook and edit some things he added to our doc. Pewter Workbook is a doc where we have designs from google and paste it on our workbook so we can can make pendants, earings or badges. I chose my design and I wrote my name on the board. I chose to make a pendant and wanted to make the size medium. While Mr Grundy called everyones name one by one it was time to go back to school. After it was time to go back to school so we said goodbye to Mr Grundy and walked to the bus.

Technology

Today we hopped onto the bus and drove off to Tamaki College. We split up and walked to our classes. We were with Mr Grundy. He welcomed us warmly and we found our seats. We sat down and as always we had to finish off our work on our computers. We did the same thing as last week but some children moved on. I searched up silhouette ideas and found some new things I can add to my designs. After doing that I wrote my name on the board and waited until Mr Grundy called my name. After that Mr Grundy said to pack up our things because we only have 2 minutes left. So we did and we played a game. If you win the game you get a handfull of M&Ms. After that it was time to come back to school so we said our goodbyes and walked back to the bus.

Techonology

Today we went to Tamaki College for technology.

Everyone hopped onto the bus and we left to Tamaki College, We all split up to find our class and me and group walked around the corner to Mr Grundy’s class. We sat on our seats and we greeted Mr Grundy. He told us to find some designs and do it. I search up silhouette designs and found some great ideas. I saved the image and edited the image on Remove Backround. Remove Backround is an app where you can remove the backround of your photo and edit it. After editing the photo I put it on my Pewter Workbook and wrote my name on the board. After finishing it waited until Mr Grundy called our name so he can check it. After doing all of that it was time to come back to school. So we said our goodbyes to Mr Grundy and walked back to the bus. THE END

Technology Rotation

Today everyone was rotating classes for technology. My group rotated class into hard materials with Mr Grundy. We started off by learning about the five rules which is don’t fiddle, don’t rock on your chair, go bathroom before class, Wear covered shoes and the last one is Stay put. After learning about the rules Mr Grundy cutted out a shape of a turtle and added 2 more peices of wood on the side. He melted the metal than poured the metal into the hole. We watched him do that but we had to stay 1 meter away from him because the metal is really, really hot. After watching we let the pendant cool down. Mr Grundy handed us some paper and instructed us to draw some ideas of what our pendant is going to look like.
